9 MVC views and controllers

  • Views — A view renders the page directly, with the page as its model and no controller of your own. MVC finds it by name in Views/Shared, or by a full path such as ~/Views/Pages/Article.cshtml.
  • Controllers — Use a controller when a page needs more than a view: query parameters, a model built from several queries, a form. The action gets the page through [FromContent], and other parameters bind as usual.
