Undoing an experiment
timestamp and revert run the workflow of
section 16.1 from the outside. Take the head of
the log before you change anything, and put the database back afterwards:
ts=$(relatude timestamp)
# ... run the app, insert, update, delete ...
relatude revert --after $ts --yestimestamp prints a bare number, so a script can keep it. Without --yes, revert only reports
what it would delete. --after also takes a UTC time such as 2026-08-19T14:30:00Z. Index and
state files saved after that point are rebuilt from the log. The command reports this, and on a
large database the rebuild takes a while.
